Join STOP ANIMAL TEST! CAMPAIGN today!

We need your help! Please be a part of the movement!

** Stop Animal Test! Campaign is going to protest against animal tests
for cosmetics and household products, and to exhibit panels as follows.

Nowadays, many consumers refuse to buy products that injure and kill animals in the laboratory. This grass-roots movement has made an impact on large cosmetics companies. For example, this year, SHISEIDO and KAO developed a test-tube method of determining allergic substances safely, instead of sacrificing animals. Moreover, Japanese Association of Cosmetics Engineers will never publish research papers that use living animals for experiments from next year.
However, it does not mean that those two big companies stop animal tests completely. Furthermore, most people still do not know the hidden animal abuses in laboratories, and the fact that there are alternative ways. So, please join us, and let's tell all people the truth!

If you can join us, please let us know! Then we can estimate the number of people, and contact you when something change. You are welcome to bring musical instruments, flags, placards, and anything that appeal for reducing animal tests!

What is SATC?

Stop Animal Test! Campaign is the network of individuals who want to rouse public opinion against animal tests. We have staged the demonstration, Peace Walk for Animals, to protest against animal tests, especially for cosmetics and household products since 2002. 130 people gathered in Tokyo in the first year, and 250 people gathered in Tokyo and Osaka in the second year.
We hope you will walk with us this year!

What are Animal Tests?

The PETA guide to Animals and Experimentation reveals, Million of animals are killed in corporate laboratories-and their deaths have nothing to do with human disease. [Eye and Skin Irritancy Tests] Chemicals are dripped into rabbitsf eyes and smeared onto the raw, abraded skins of their backs. Eye tests are always stressful and uncomfortable; often they cause searing pain and blindness. [Lethal Dose Tests] increasing amounts of detergent, eye shadow, or other products are force-fed to animals until a certain percentage of them are poisoned to death. [Inhalation Tests] Massive amounts of aerosol products-much more than humans would ever inhale-such as deodorant and hair spray, are pumped into small chambers from which animals cannot escape. Convulsions and death by suffocation often result. After one test, surviving animals may be killed outright or recycled into other tests.

What YOU can do.

Go Cruelty-Free.  Please choose cruelty-free items that do not conduct tests on animals when you buy some products. Thanks to consumer pressure, more than 550 cosmetics and household product manufactures have replaced tests on animals with more reliable methods,h such as human-derived cellular tests and computer analysis. (The PETA guide)
Tell Others The Truth Please tell your family and friends the truth that animals are sacrificed for cosmetics and household products people use everyday, in spite of the fact that alternative methods exist. If companies and government realize that consumers do not want animal tests, animal tests will be abolished eventually. These actions seem to be little things, but it is the little things that make the difference.

Message from John Robbins :

There are those who say animals are ours to use and exploit however we might wish, with no ethical responsibility toward them. And there are also those who say that animals draw breath from the same source as we do, and deserve our compassion and respect. I fall into the second category, because I want all beings to be treated with kindness, and because I believe that until we human beings expand our circle of compassion to include all beings we will not ourselves be fully human. I congratulate the Peace Walk for Animals for upholding the spirit of caring and concern. The time has come for us to cease cruelty toward animals and align ourselves more fully with an ethic of reverence for life."
